The Story Behind Pull Me In

Before I was a director, I went to an arts high school, the kind of place where everyone has talent. That’s where I met Kelly Corfield, the lead singer of Foreignlocal. Even back then, among all that talent, Kelly stood out. Her voice, her presence, the way she lived inside the music - it was undeniable. Years later, we all found our way into creative careers: I became a filmmaker, one of our friends became a choreographer, others became editors, producers, dancers. But when we heard this song, Pull Me In, we knew it was time to come back together and make something for Kelly. Something that reflected the brilliance we’ve always seen in her.

Pull Me In is about a haunting relationship with art - the push and pull of whether to keep going. Kelly had questioned if she could stay in music. It’s a tough path, and the industry doesn’t make it easy to stay true to yourself. But music never let her go. It kept pulling her back because it’s who she is.

We built this video around that idea. The fabric you see is a metaphor for all the doubts, fears, expectations - everything that wraps around you and tries to hold you in place. But eventually, she breaks through. She emerges as herself, raw, unfiltered, powerful. The artist she was always meant to be.

This video is more than just a collaboration. It’s a love letter to a friend, to art, and to the calling that never really lets you go.
